"In a lot of ways, I'm just an average Joe. But on radio, I can take listeners to places they haven't seen, to times that are lost. And I've only begun to scratch the surface."

Glenn Beck's Life

Born on February 10th, 1964, in Mt. Vernon, WA, Glenn Beck was raised Roman Catholic. His early days started off rough. Age age 13, his mother committed suicide. Also one of his brothers did the same and another sibling had a fatal heart attack.

Beck succumbed to alcohol and drug abuse. After so many personal tragedies, he used "Dr. Jack Daniels" and heavy drugs as a way to cope. Due to these problems, him and his first wife divorced. With the help of AA and converting to the LDS faith, Beck beat the battle.

Beck has two daughters from his first marriage. One daughter has cerebral palsy. He also has two additional children from his second wife.

Career:

Beck won a local radio contest to be a DJ for an hour and that's when his radio career began. He had many different gigs in the beginning. He hosted Christian radio on Saturdays, rock on Sunday and country on weeknights. Talk about a variety! In the mid 80's, he worked at the WRKA station in Louisville, KY as a DJ. His show was called Captain Beck and the A-Team.

After H.S., he pursued his career as a Top 40 DJ. In his 20's he was on WKCI-FM, a Top 40 station in Hamden, Connecticut. Years later he took a 3 hour DJ position on KC101's sister station, WELI. Moved to Tampa, FL to launch The Glenn Beck Program combining politics and comedy. His first year was a hit, moving from 14th place to #2 position. Within a year, the Premiere Radio Networks offered Beck to go national and did in January 2002. By May 2008, it has reached over 280 stations as well as XM Satellite. Now with over 6.5 million listeners, its ranked 4th in the nation.

This year, Beck won the Marconi Award for Network Syndicated Personality of the Year.

Beck's TV show called Glenn Beck aired nightly at 7p.m., repeating at 9p.m. and 12 a.m. from May 8, 2006 to October 2008.

In October 2008, the Drudge Report and The Politico reported that Beck signed a contract with the Fox News Channel to host a weekday show at 5pm EST starting Spring of 1009. CNN immediately discontinued his previous deal and replaced it with a news hour anchored by Jane Velez Mitchell.

Beck has also written some inpirational books. Please visit the Amazon area below to review.

Glenn Beck considers himself a conservative who happens to not be a Republican. He is pro-life, including being opposed to euthanasia and supports the death penalty. A far stretch from his religious beliefs.

In subsequent years, Beck has toured American cities twice a year. His productions are a mix of stand-up comedy and inspirational speaking. For his annual winter tour, Glenn Beck's Christmas Tour is focused on a Christmas theme.

Beck, a talk-radio and television host, author and speaker, he has made a successful life for himself!
